Artem’s contribution to the show consisted of two requests - to design and build an inflatable suit for gum-chewing Violet Beauregarde as she starts to transform from normal into a giant blueberry, and to devise a series of experiments for the Oompa-Loompas in their sweet testing laboratory.
The inflatable suit had to fit each of the four child actors covering the part, and be self-contained under their outer costume.  It also had to be operated by the child and of course be safe.  At Artem, Laura Sindall made up a couple of patterns that were trialled to get the best ‘look’ and discussions covered just how much of the body would inflate.  Eventually this was the torso, thighs and upper arms.  The air supply had to be tiny in order to be hidden, but had to be capable of ensuring a full inflation, which narrowed options down to dive components with their safety margins and long reliability record.  This with some safety controls and switching allowed the pneumatics to be hidden away in a small backpack the actor was wearing.  Other safety valves ensured the suit could not over inflate and squish the child!  It was very amusing when the prototype was first tried out, great fun for the child, and satisfying for the Production.
The Oompa-Loompa sweet experiments were more of an open book.  They wanted to be interesting mechanisms on stage, with bright colours, bubbles, and smoke, but had to be contained in a very small footprint due to the set and the dancing action around them.  Six different units were built incorporating air and fluid pumps. Lots of tubing and whacky containers with bubbles floating from one while smoke rose gently from others.

  Nivea Creme: £1.85 in Tesco

Nivea creme is an all time beauty classic providing the skin with all it needs to stay pure. It has been dermatologically proven to be more hydrating for your skin and reduced lines more visibly than more expensive creams.

Reviews:

I have tried most lotions out there, but figured i would give this cream a try cause im trying a more natural skin and haircare.and considering its history i had to try it.i have had access to the cream when i was younger, but never gave it much consideration.i have problems with acne, and i was pretty worried about trying the creme on my face, but i have been using it for 1 week now and no breakouts! I use it all over and my skin is so soft, smooth and glowing!! I love this creme and i use it every morning under my makeup.i think it looks great and not greasy. I use the german cream, and u guess its the better one.i will never use any other creme!! Its so cheap and lasts long.

I purchased this after I saw my friend using it. She has great skin and doesn't use a lot of base make up or fancy skin care so thought I would give it a try. I was always hesitant to use it as it is such a thick formula.
I primarily use this during the winter months on my face and my skin is definitely feeling nice and soft and smooth in the morning after. I normally would use Shiseido's The Skincare night lotion, however this leaves a softer feel to my skin after using it. I wouldn't use it when the weather is warmer though.
It's also nice and thick for my dry skin on my legs and body. My boyfriend also uses it as his no fuss nightly moisturiser so we share the same tub. The tub cost about $9 AUD and it lasts for I would say almost a year even more between 2 people! Great value for money and proves that you don't need to use expensive products, drugstore brands work just as well.
I would say though, I am in my late 20s, so I don't have acne or problem skin anymore. I would never use this during my acne and oily skin years as it would be far too rich for it. But for people with good skin already I would definitely recommend giving this a try!

I love this cream so much! I wish I found out about it sooner! I have the Mexican version and it works great. The cream is rich and has a powdery clean sent. I use this on my elbows, knees, feet, hands, even my lips! It's very moisturizing and thick and the skin on my body is dry so this is great for me. I wouldn't use this on my face because it is pretty thick and my face is more to the oily side but this is great for my dry body. It doesn't absorb very quickly and it can be a tad bit greasy but I don't care. If you got dry skin give it a try!

A great first step
I've used Jan Marini Antioxident Daily Face Protectant for the past 3 years and will continue. I apply 1 pump's worth every morning and it's enough for both face and neck. The lotion is quick to absorb and leaves no sticky residue. It's my go to first step everyday. The price is reasonable considering a bottle lasts at least 2 months. — 4 years, 1 month ago

I love the smell, texture, oil control, sunblock protection. It's a wonderful product. It's pricey, but a little goes a long, long, long way. — 4 years, 5 months ago

TASK 3:

1. What were your expectations on starting the course?

I expected the course to be fun and interesting, I knew it would be a course you wouldn't get bored of easily. I always wanted to do something in relation to art so when I heard about this course I thought it would be a good thing to try and enjoy and then hopefully be successful in the business.

2. What are your initial thoughts on WCS and the Media make up course?

The course met my expectations in the fact that it is fun and keeps you on your toes and you are constantly trying new things and working on new people and I certainly am never bored, the college is fine to be in, the department always makes sure we have plenty of room to work and good equipment to use.

3. What is your funniest moment of college life so far?

Inappropriate moments

4. What is the most interesting thing you have learned or learned how to do so far?

So far, I am most interested in the special effects side of the course, and learning the different equipment used such as wax or latex and the different sponges.

5. Why do you want to be a MUA?

I had already being introduced to makeup artistry when asked if I was interested in work experience in he business, it was an interesting offer that you could have a lot of fun with and experiment with your work.
